The twelve values say what stance a text takes. They do not say what it speaks about. For every text it is therefore also recorded which areas of life appear and how the text frames them: as a danger, as something that needs measure, openly, as a good, or as a gift.

The scale means the same for every area. A text warning against violence sits on the left under "Violence and war". A text celebrating marriage sits on the right under "Marriage and partnership". What is measured is what the text does, not whether it is right.

Where the paths diverge

loading

The compass shows what the traditions share. This is its counterpart: the areas where they stand furthest apart. What is counted is the distance between the tradition that frames an area most strongly as a danger and the one that frames it most strongly as a gift. Only traditions with at least three mentions are counted; anything below that would be noise.
